This series of artworks is grounded in the purity of watercolour and paper, deliberately eschewing synthetic materials in favor of a more organic connection to the act of making. Through a figurative language defined by long, intentional lines and a restrained blue palette, I seek to evoke depth, stillness, and contemplation. These works invite viewers to turn inward—to explore their own emotional landscapes and engage with the transformative qualities of water and love. The series also alludes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus—an emblematic religious symbol deeply rooted in Mexican culture. Here, I reinterpret its form: rather than a bleeding heart, it becomes a fluid, living, more feminine presence, reminiscent of coral and organic marine forms. In doing so, the work shifts the focus from venerating a wounded, masculine heart to honoring the vitality and generative power of nature. Beyond emphasizing the essential nature of water, the series reflects a desire to deepen our awareness of the connections that bind us to the natural world and to one another. In this process, I am also searching for healing and a sense of emotional freedom, both personally and collectively.
